The latest release of the GCRA Data Drive contains all data previously digitally published on the 2015 flash drive plus an updated Points-of-Origin file containing authenticated origins of people living in the Glückstal Colonies and some neighboring enclave colonies. New to this release are MVD (Ministry of Internal Affairs) File Extractions concerning individuals/families who were relocated from the Glückstal, Hoffnungstal, Beresan, and Liebental areas during the repression years. Within this 33-volume, 66-issue digital archive, there is a wealth of information about your Glückstal Colonies ancestors in these past newsletters, including history, family stories, photos, and documented points of origins. Sophie, as anthropomorphized by a little bear, is introduced to her ancestral heritage by her grandmother. Sophie’s grandparents and great-grandparents came to the United States from German colonies established in South Russia.

Donate to GCRA

A donation to the Glückstal Colonies Research Association will help with ongoing research and documentation of the Glückstal colonies. This includes coordination the efforts of individuals researching descendants of the Glückstal colonies and locating, gathering, and organizing access all sources pertaining to researching descendants of the Glückstal, Neudorf, Bergdorf, Kassel, and their daughter colonies.
